ATLAS purchased majority stake of private enterprise Tajfun- the major manufacturer at the building sector in Belarus. Thanks to that investment ATLAS has strengthen its position in the Eastern market. ATLAS and Tajfun shall invest ca. 4 million USD for the modernization and manufacture development, within the next two years.
Tajfun Ltd. manufactures above 50 different kinds of building mortars- among others: adhesives, grouts, screeds, insulation systems as well as gypsum products- all under two brands: Lux and Tajfun Master. They are the leading brands in the market. The enterprise from Grodno manufactured 150 000 tons of products over 2008 year. Its revenue for that year was 84 billion BLR (ca. 39 mln USD). The results for the current 2009 year indicate the successive increase of turnover. The enterprise is an owner of sand mine.
- I am convinced that this investment will play strategic role in building ATLAS market position in Central-Eastern Europe – says Henryk Siodmok, the president of ATLAS Group. – Tajfun is a private company, established 11 years ago by two partners. Its history resembles in a way the history of ATLAS. They have also started from scratch and were the pioneers of entrepreneurship in their market. During the mutual contacts, we have joyfully considered the similar company culture. It bodes well for future. For the time being, Tajfun company runs as the well-oiled machine- the production runs for three shifts six days a week.
