Since its very beginning ATLAS was compassionate and sensitive for everything what was going around it, although at these times nobody yet spoke about - so called today - CSR (Corporation Social Responsibility). It was just obvious that the firm had to be fair, responsible and ruled by high principles. To put this charitable activity into a kind of organisational frames, and to be sure that the aid went where it was really needed, in1996 owners of ATLAS founded Atlas Charity Foundation. Value of aid granted by the foundation to its beneficiaries till February 2008 exceeded 37 million PLN. |

In 2003 the foundation funded a hospice in Sopot, giving 4 million zlotys. This enterprise was a model example of good co-operation with local administration and town council, which offered for free a parcel of land, and with Caritas of Gdañsk Archdiocese, which fitted the hospice with hospital equipment and undertook itself to run the institution. For the idea of building and financing of the hospice Atlas Charity Foundation has been awarded "the Benefactor of the Year 2003" title by the Chapter of Academy for Development of Philanthropy. Moreover, as criterions applied by the Chapter happened to be a little insufficient, the Chapter decided to additionally award the foundation with Special Prize.
