SANITARY SILICONE RESISTANT TO ALGAE, FUNGI AND MOULDS
RECOMMENDED FOR KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS
MYCO PROTECT - the system protects the silicone from the growth of fungi, moulds and algae, which helps prolong the aesthetic appearance of the surface and keep the environment healthy.
COLOR PROTECT – an innovative system that makes the colour last longer and increases resistance of the sealant to contamination and UV radiation.
Permanently elastic – remains highly flexible throughout its lifetime, cures without shrinking, accommodates joint movement up to 25 % joint width.
Universal – for sealing indoor and outdoor joints, especially in places exposed to water and biological factors, also for sealing corner joints between ceramic tiles.
For bathrooms – for sealing joints in shower cabins, shower bases, around bathroom furniture and fittings, washbasins, toilets, baths etc.
For kitchens– for filling joints in kitchen worktops and around sinks.
For terraces, balconies, facades – excellent for sealing joints exposed to weather conditions.
Resistant to temperature changes – the silicone is resistant to temperatures in the range between -50C and +180C. Cured silicone sealant is frost- and water-resistant.
High adhesion – recommended for sealing joints between ceramic, gres-stoneware tiles, sanitary ware, impregnated wood; glass, porcelain anodised aluminium, stainless steel surfaces, enamelled surfaces etc.
Wide colour range – the silicone is available in 32 colours (including clear) corresponding to the colour range of ATLAS ARTIS GROUT. In combination with ATLAS ARTIS GROUT, ATLAS ARTIS EPOXY GROUT and ATLAS TILE TRIMS it provides a complete system for finishing tiled surfaces. |

Economical in use – depending on joint width and depth. Examples of coverage, i.e. joint length (in metres) obtained from one cartridge, for most typical applications are presented in the table below.
Joint width (mm) | Joint depth (mm) | Coverage (m/300 ml) |
4 | 6 | ca. 12 |
6 | 6 | ca. 8 |
8 | 6 | ca. 6 |

| Keep out of reach of children. Avoid direct contact with skin, eyes, drinking water and food. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Ensure adequate room ventilation during application and curing of silicone sealant. |

| Tools. An essential tool for the application of the sealant is a pneumatic or hand sealant gun. Other tools required include a putty knife or another tool for smoothing and shaping the surface of sealed joints and a small knife. Any silicone contamination should be promptly removed using white spirits. After curing, any silicone residue can only be removed mechanically.
Surface preparation. The surface should be dry, clean and free from dust, dirt and other contaminants that might affect adhesion. Surface directly adjacent to the joints to be sealed should be protected with masking tape.
Joint filling. Before work, take off the applicator nozzle and cut off the tip of the cartridge. Then reattach the nozzle and cut it according to the size of the joint, preferably at an angle. Load the prepared cartridge into the sealant gun. Squeeze out the material uniformly, filling the joint with slight excess in a continuous manner, without leaving any voids or discontinuities. Within 10-15 minutes the silicone should be tooled and finally smoothed using a putty knife or a similar tool, which should be wet with water with a little soap or washing-up liquid. It is advisable to shape the joins so that water can drain freely. The masking tape used to protect the adjacent surfaces should be remove directly after smoothing of the sealant.
Important recommendations. The silicone sealant cannot be used in fish tanks, for attaching mirrors, or for sealing joints made of Teflon, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), concrete, marble, lead, zinc, copper and iron. To avoid silicone adhering to the bottom of the joint and to ensure optimal filling of the space between the sides of the joint, it is recommended to use a polyethylene expansion cord.
The above information constitutes basic guidelines on product use and does not relieve users of the obligation to work in accordance with good practice and health and safety regulations. |
