TWO-COMPONENT EPOXY GROUT WITH LONG-LASTING COLOUR
FOR GROUTING TILED FLOORS AND WALLS, FOR JOINT WIDTH BETWEEN 1 AND 10 mm

PROPERTIES
COLOR PROTECT - an innovative system that makes the grout colour last longer and prevents discolouration and the formation of efflorescence. The grout has an increased resistance to contamination, UV radiation, oils and detergents.

MYCO PROTECT - the system protects the grout from the growth of fungi, moulds and algae, which helps prolong the aesthetic appearance of the tiled surface and keep the environment healthy.

0% water absorption – the grout is completely waterproof and resistant to moisture; it produces joints characterised by very high durability.

Extremely hard – high mechanical strength and resistance to cracking. The grout cures and hardens without shrinking.

Excellent performance – perfect for garages, laundries and boiler rooms or wherever the flooring is exposed to intensive traffic. The grout is resistant to abrasion, scratching and high and low temperatures.

Easy to clean – the grout is ideally suited for use in kitchens, on worktops, in shops etc., since it is resistant to staining and does not deteriorate when frequently exposed to cleaning agents.

For terraces, balconies and elevations – because of its excellent adhesion to tile edges and lack of water absorption, the grout is perfectly suited for use on surfaces susceptible to deformation.

For pools, shower bases and shower cabins – ideal for places where resistance to water and biological factors is required.

For floorings exposed to chemicals – the grout is resistant to acids, aggressive chemicals, powerful cleaning agents and detergents. It is suitable for use in waste water treatment plants, barns, dairies, abattoirs, car washes, breweries, wineries, bottling plants, laboratories etc.

Universal application – the grout can be used indoors and outdoors, for sealing joints in floorings attached to typical mineral substrates, securely fixed drywall and engineered wood board walls, as well as on substrates in floor or wall heating systems.

For all types of tiles – for grouting of all types of ceramic wall and floor tiles (glazed tiles, terracotta, stoneware tiles), stone tiles (natural stone and stone aggregate), mosaic (ceramic and glass), construction ceramics, gres-stoneware tiles etc. Because of its special formula, the material can also be used for fixing ceramic tiles.

Colour range – the grout is available in 5 colours: white, light beige, beige, brown and grey. In combination with ATLAS ARTIS GROUT, ATLAS ARTIS SANITARY SILICONE and ATLAS TILE TRIMS it provides a complete system for finishing tiled surfaces.

CONSUMPTION
Economical in use – depending on the width and depth of joints and the type and format of the tiles used (for joint filling) and substrate smoothness and type of tiles (for tile fixing).

APPLICATION
Tools. The full set of tools consists of: a container for grout mixing, an electric drill with a mixer, a rubber float, a soft and hard sponge. The tools should be cleaned with clean water directly after use. Once the material has hardened, it can only be removed mechanically.

Surface preparation Prior to grouting, the joints should be carefully cleaned of dust and all types of contamination. The gaps between the tiles should be dry and should have a uniform depth (during tile laying the excess tile adhesive should be promptly removed from the joints. Grouting can be commenced once the tile adhesive used to attach the tiles has hardened, but no earlier than after 24 hours. If ATLAS MIG tile adhesive is used, grouting can be started after 4 hours.

Mixing. The epoxy grout is supplied as a set consisting of two components: hardener (A) and mass (B), in the correct proportions ready for mixing. To prepare the grout, add the hardener (A) from the bottle to the pail with the mass (B) and mix mechanically until a mass with uniform texture and colour is obtained. A slow speed mixer (ca. 600 rpm) should be used for mixing. It is also recommended to move the mixer up and down the container during mixing. The ready grout should be used up within ca. 45 minutes (pot life).

Note. If only part of the product is to be used, the grout should be prepared in a separate container, using the correct proportions of components by weight: 11 parts of hardener (A) to 89 parts of mass (B).

Joint filling. The grout should be carefully pressed deep into the joints using a rubber float, moving diagonally to the tile edges. Any grout residue left on the tile surface should be removed immediately (no later than after 20 minutes) using wet sponges. For easier cleaning, ca. 10% of ethanol can be added to the water used for cleaning.

Tile fixing. The grout should be applied to the surface end spread evenly using a notched trowel with a notch size of 3 mm. On vertical surfaces notched trowels with a maximum 6 mm notch size should be used. Press down the tile, adjust its position immediately and promptly remove any excess mortar. Any contamination should be promptly removed from the mortar.

Traffic. Foot traffic on freshly grouted or attached tiles is allowed after ca. 24 hours.

Important recommendations.

  • Before grouting a tiled surface, trial grouting should be carried out on a small surface (preferably on tile waste) followed by cleaning, in order to determine the effect of the grout on the type of tile used..
  • To avoid any colour differences it is recommended to use only material with the same date of production and batch number on a particular tiled surface.
  • The freshly applied grout should be protected from precipitation and temperatures below +5 C until fully cured.
  • After ca. 4 hours at +20 C any grout residue can be removed only by mechanical cleaning.

The above information constitutes basic guidelines on product use and does not relieve users of the obligation to work in accordance with good practice and health and safety regulations.
CAUTION
Irritant. The grout contains epoxy compounds. The hardener component of the grout is alkaline. The product is irritating to skin and eyes. It may cause sensitisation by skin contact. Harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children. In case of skin contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Avoid eye and skin contact. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Avoid releasing to the environment. Follow the instruction for use or safety data sheet. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately – show the label where possible.
