Most important features

  • improves plaster bonding to the substrate
  • recommended beneath cement and cement-lime plasters
  • for manual and machine application

Product description

ATLAS CEMENT BASE COAT forms base coat in two- or three-coat plastering technology – applied directly onto the substrate before the application of finish coat made of cement or cement-lime plaster.

Excellent compatibility with ATLAS plastering mixes:
- PLASTERING MIX,
- LIGHT MACHINE-APPLIED CEMENT-LIME PLASTER

It is suitable for manual and machine plastering - the use of plastering units enables work to progress very quickly.

Types of substrates to be rendered - ceilings and walls of brick, block, hollow block and other such ceramic or silicate materials; surfaces of concrete, aerated concrete, chipboard, cement and cement-lime plaster.

Main properties

ATLAS CEMENT BASE COAT is produced as a dry mixture of the highest quality cement binder, quartz fillers and refining additives, giving it plasticity and making it easier to process.

High strength (above 6.0 N/mm²) - the dressing is a suitable base for a top coat made even of high-strength plastering com-pounds - it is resistant to the shrinkage stresses arising during the setting of such mortars.

It has high adhesion to the substrate - it is particularly recommended for smooth or low-absorbing substrates and bonds strongly to bricks, blocks, etc.

So called anti-freezing agents may be added to the mortar, allowing works to be carried out at lower temperatures, i.e. below +5 °C - the new temperature range for mortar application, the manner of its preparation (especially the correction of the amount of water added), the principles of carrying out works and the conditions of mortar setting should be adopted according to the additive manufacturers indications. The amount of antifreeze to be added depends on the cement content in the mortar - the ratio of cement/fillers in ATLAS CEMENT BASE COAT is 1:4 Note. The mortar manufacturer is not responsible for the effects and quality of the anti-frost additives used.
