Product description

Dolomite aggregate – based render.
For decorative and protective finishing of façades and internal walls.
Thanks to the use of specially chosen and selected dolomite aggregate mixes the render holds exceptional features:
• perfect working parameters – very good adhesion to the substrate during application (almost no material loss) and very easy structure forming and possible painting.
• uniform, repeatable spotted structure.

USE

Render of spotted texture, available in 2 versions differing in colour and aggregate size:
·         ATLAS CERMIT ND 20 – white, aggregate size up to 2.0 mm
·         ATLAS CERMIT ND 20 – for painting, aggregate size up to 2.0 mm
Decorative and protective finishing of façades and internal walls.
Light and durable render – it is an ideal finish for thermal insulation systems.
Recommended for building façades, where high vapour permeability should be kept – porous structure of the set render ensures free transfer of water vapour – possible to use, e.g. as finishing coat of external walls of roofed pools, kitchens, drying houses, laundries, cold storage plants, gym halls, baths, old buildings, with keeping proper warm and humidity partition parameters.
 Recommended for buildings exposed to algae and fungi – situated close to clusters of greenery and water reservoirs; high pH (~12) hinders the development of biological corrosion appearing in the form of brownish – green deposit resulting in damage to the surface.

 

Types of rendered buildings  – detached houses, multi - family buildings and public access buildings.
Types of substrates – concrete, traditional plasters on walls of bricks, ceramic, cellular or silicate blocks or hollow bricks, plasterboards (indoors), thermal insulation systems with EPS, XPS and mineral wool.

Enables free joining of the areas with technological breaks.
Forms snow-white surface, not requiring painting (white version of ATLAS CERMIT ND) – version of ATLAS CERMIT ND for painting must be finished with a paint, e.g. ATLAS FASTEL NOVA. Painting must be executed not later than 1 year after render application (render can be unpainted in one winter time only).
Resistant to micro-cracking – contains special fibres reinforcing its structure.
Durability parameters meliorate in use - thanks to the positive influence of natural carbonation process of mineral renders, which limits their absorbability, hardens structure and improves resistance to chemical aggression.
 
High durability and hardness – owing to the polymer - reinforced mix of binders – white, fine, high grade cement type and lime, and also due to the specially selected dolomite aggregate.
 
MYCO PROTECT system – high pH of the render enables long time protection against biological corrosion, i.e. development of fungi and algae on the surface of the render.
 
Does not attract dust, dirt and pollen from the environment.
 
Non-flammable – in combination with mineral wool it forms a non-flammable thermal insulation system on walls.

APPLICATION

Substrate preparation
The substrate should be:
stable – sufficiently rigid and sufficiently long aged. The assumed ageing time for substrates is, respectively:
−        for new cement plasters from ready to use ATLAS plastering mortars, min. 1 week
for each 1 cm of thickness,
−        for concrete walls - at least 28 days,
air – dry – in the state of humidity equilibrium in normal operation conditions,
even – irregularities and cavities, which may hinder forming proper render texture, should be filled with, e. g.  ATLAS LEVELLING MORTAR, ATLAS ZW 330, ATLAS PLASTERING MIX, or adhesive mortars for the execution of the basecoat in the thermal insulation systems. Before repair, prime the surface with ATLAS UNI-GRUNT emulsion,
clean – free from layers that can deteriorate the adhesiveness of the render, especially dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, residues of oil and emulsion paints;  substrate covered with algae, fungi, etc. must be cleaned with ATLAS MYKOS agent,
primed - with ATLAS CERPLAST priming mass.
 
Rendering mass preparation
Pour the materials from the bag into a container and mix dry – during transportation, aggregate segregation can occur. Next, pour the mix to a container with water (for proportions, see Technical Data section) and mix manually or mechanically until homogenous. Leave the mass to rest for 10 minutes and then remix. The ready to use mass must be used up within ca. 1.5 hour. Mix the mass from time to time while working in order to maintain homogenous consistency.
 
Render application
The mix can be applied manually. It consists in the application of the render in a layer equal to the aggregate grain size, with a smooth stainless steel float. Remove the excess of the material, place it in the bucket and necessarily remix.
 
Texture forming
The freshly applied mass requires texture forming with a float made of plastic. The spotted effect is obtained by floating the render with circular moves.
 
Finishing works
Depending on the render type, the finished coat can be left without painting (white version of ATLAS CERMIT ND) or requires coating with a façade paint (version ATLAS CERMIT ND for painting).  The render can be painted with all façade paints (e.g. ATLAS ARKOL S, ATLAS ARKOL N, ATLAS FASTEL-NOVA and ATLAS ARKOL E). Painting works can start 2÷ 6 weeks after the render application (depending on the type and the colour of the paint). Only painting with ATLAS ARKOL S or ATLAS FASTEL NOVA paints can start directly after the render sets, not earlier, however, than after 48 hours (ARKOL S) or 5 days (FASTEL NOVA).

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The open time (between the application and the floating) depends on the absorbability of the substrate, the ambient temperature and the consistency of the render. The maximum surface possible for rendering in one technological cycle (application and floating) must be established experimentally (for the given type of substrate and weather conditions).

• Apply the render using the “wet on wet” method, preventing the floated layer from drying before applying the next layer. Otherwise, the seams will be visible. Technological breaks have to be planned in advance, e.g. in the corners and angles of the building, under rainwater pipes, or place of contact of two colours, etc.

• Protect the rendered surface both during work and while setting against direct sunlight, wind and precipitation.

• The setting time, depending on the substrate, temperature and relative air humidity, is from 12 to 48 hours. The substrate and ambient temperature during work and render setting must be between +5°C and +25°C.

• Tools must be cleaned with clean water directly after use. Difficult to remove residues of the set render can be removed with the ATLAS SZOP agent.

• Irritant - contains cement. Irritating to respiratory system and skin. Risk of serious damage to eyes. May cause sensitisation by skin contact. Due to its form - powder, the product may cause mechanical irritation of eyes and respiratory system. Keep out of reach of children. Do not breathe dust. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label. Follow the instructions in the Material Safety Data Sheet.

• Content of soluble chromium (VI) in ready-to-use mix - ≤ 0.0002%.

TRANSPORT & STORAGE

The render must be transported and stored in tightly sealed bags, in dry conditions (most preferably on pallets). Protect against humidity. Shelf life in conditions as specified is 12 months from the production date shown on the packaging.
