Product description

ATLAS SALTA paint is highly resistant to fading, UV rays action and soiling. The use of pigments of the newest generation and advanced manufacturing technology as well as pigment dosing control provide the paint with very good utilisation properties and, above all, façade colour durability.

USE

Wide range of painted buildings – residential (detached and multi – family), public access, outhouses, industrial, etc.

BIO PROTECTION creates unfavorable conditions for fungi and algae growth due to low water absorption and acid-alkaline reaction.
PEARL EFFECT – water absorptivity reduced to minimum – the advanced technology based on silicone dispersion effectively protects the painted wall against soaking.
Forms surface resistant to dirt adhesion the paint coat is uniquely compact, microscopically smooth, therefore the dirt particles and fungi spores easily lose contact and are naturally removed with rain and wind.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY by our concern for the natural environment the paint recipe is based on natural fillers only with maximum volatile compounds content reduction.
Does not require a primer the first paint coat primes the substrate (refers to fresh renders).
Vapour permeable – the paint surface forms microscopic, so called “breathing”, structure, providing free transfer of water vapour through the painted partition.

Substrate preparation
The substrate should be dry and structurally sound i.e. strong enough and free from layers that may weaken paint adhesion, in particular efflorescence, dust, dirt, wax and grease. Carefully remove any old paints and repair and float small defects (e.g. cracks or cavities) e.g. with ATLAS ZW 330 mortar. Substrates of low absorbability and fresh thin-coat renders do not require additional priming. Old renders and other substrates of high absorbability must be primed with ATLAS ARKOL NX emulsion.
Rendering coats can be painted after they have set completely, not earlier than:
−for mineral renders ATLAS CERMIT SN, DR, SN-MAL, ND and ND for painting – after 5 days,
−for acrylic renders ATLAS CERMIT N and R, SAH renders – after 7 days,
−traditional plasters – after 2 – 4 weeks..
Paint preparation
The paint is delivered in the ready to use form. Mix well before use in order to homogenize the consistency. Mechanical mixing with a slow drill with a mixer is recommended. The paint must not be mixed with other materials.
Paint dilution
For the first painting, particularly for substrates with well defined texture, e.g. thin-coat renders, maximum 2% of clear water can be added (1 glass of 200 ml to 10 l paint container). Maintain the same dilution ratio for the whole painted surface. For the final painting, use undiluted paint.
Painting
Apply the paint in the form of a thin and even coat with a roller, a brush, or by spraying. For the first layer, so-called pre-coat, applied on textured renders, we recommend using the paint diluted in the proportion as described above. The next layer can be applied not earlier than after 6 hours in direction perpendicular to the previous one. Technological breaks in painting have to be planned in advance, e.g. in the corners and angles of the building, under rainwater pipes, or place of contact of two colours, etc. Apply the paint continuously (using the “wet on wet” method), avoiding breaks in work. The drying time depends on the substrate, the temperature and the relative air humidity and is from ca. 2 up to 6 hours. It also depends on the colour intensity of the paint used.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Painting works must not be carried out in high humidity and low temperatures, below +5°C (with ATLAS ESKIMO below 0°C), conditions. Protect the painted surface against direct sunlight, wind and precipitation both during works and during the paint drying. In adverse weather conditions, application of the third layer may be necessary to equalize the surface.
• When painting fresh render/plaster, the façade must be protected with mesh from the start of rendering/plastering until 24 hours after finishing the painting. Fresh mineral plasters/renders set for minimum 5 days in favorable conditions (the temperature above +5°C, humidity below 65%). In adverse conditions, the setting time extends.
• When painting old renders/plasters, at least 48 hours of drying must be provided from the end of precipitation (the higher air
humidity, the longer this time should be).
• Failure to observe the manufacturer’s requirements concerning the substrate, usage and façade protection can lead to a natural phenomenon of discolouration and salt efflorescence.
• Colour uniformity of the painted surface depends largely on the dryness of the substrate. Mixing all the buckets together assure homogenous colour on a substrate.
• In order to avoid differences in colour shades, apply the paint of the same production date upon each individual surface.
• As a result of painting, slight natural smoothing of the substrate texture occurs. Painting surfaces differing in surface structure and technological parameters can result in the effect of various shades of the same paint colour.
• Clean the tools with clean water directly after use before the paint drying.
•Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid release to the environment. Dispose of contents/ container to appropriately labeled containers designed for selective waste treatment, emptied by an authorized company. Follow the instructions of the Safety Data Sheet. The paint is marketed in the form of a paste - water suspension, so there is no possibility to inhale the dust. Following the Regulation of the Minister of Health on labelling of hazardous substances and hazardous mixtures and some mixtures, supported by the opinion of the Chemical Substances Office, labeling of the paint was renounced.

TRANSPORT & STORAGE

Keep in tightly sealed original and labeled containers. Keep in dry and cool places, protect against overheating (> 30 °C) and freezing - the product freezes and irreversibly loses its performance in temperature below 0 °C. Protect against direct sunshine. Incompatible materials: avoid contact with aluminum, copper and alloys of these metals. Shelf life in conditions as specified is 12 months from the production date shown on the packaging.
