ATLAS SILICATE RENDER is designed for application of decorative and protective thin-coat rendering coats, outdoors and indoors, upon existing and newly constructed buildings:
  • in external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) with the use of polystyrene (EPS),
  • upon even, appropriately prepared mineral substrates (e.g. concrete, traditional cement and cement-lime plasters).
ATLAS SILICATE RENDER is particularly recommended for:
  • façades exposed to growth of biological life (infection of mould, algae, lichens) because of location (close to forest, clusters of greenery, water tanks, intensively shadowed, etc.); the render is characterised by high pH which blocks the development of biological corrosion,
  • façades requiring free water vapour permeability – owing to very high vapour permeability the render is a perfect solution for walls made of cellular concrete, walls of old buildings, walls of swimming pools, laundries, kitchens, washing rooms, etc.,
  • buildings located in zones of significant air pollution (city centers, close to industrial plants, etc.) – the render is resistant to direct acid environment action.

Place of use – façade with external wall insulation with polystyrene, façade of solid wall, wall indoors.
Types of rendered buildings/objects – residential, public access, educational, healthcare, commercial and service, outbuildings, heritage buildings, passive housing, energy efficient buildings.
Building location – urban areas, industrial, investment and economic zones, rural and agricultural areas, wet and damp areas close to water tanks, areas close to clusters of greenery, shadowed places.
Types of substrates – base coat of listed external wall insulation system, concrete, traditional, cement and cement-lime plasters on walls made of ceramic, cellular or silicate bricks, blocks or hollow blocks, gypsum plasters and plasterboards (indoors).

ATLAS SILICATE RENDER is a reinforced with fibers hybrid mix of inorganic binders with marble and silicate fillers, modifiers, hydrophobic agents and pigments.
BIO PROTECTION – owing to high pH reaction, coat structural tightness and surface hydrophobisation, which eliminate the threat and form unfavorable conditions for growth of mould, algae and lichens upon the façade surface within a long period of time, even after long term precipitation.
Long term coat operational durability – owing to the use of mix of silicate and organic dispersions, hydrophobing agents, special additives and modifiers, the coat ensures improved durability, resistance to atmospheric factors and UV radiation as well as long time façade aesthetic appearance.
Reduced surface absorptiveness – hydrophobic coat resistant to UV radiation, tight texturing aggregate and fine fillers effectively reduce the coating surface absorptiveness, therefore limit the risk of dirt penetration.
Additional surface hydrophobisation – hydrophobic additives allow for time limited coating absorptiveness, prevent dust and dirt particles from adhering so they can be easily washed off during precipitation.
Improved resistance to micro-cracking – owing to specially selected fine fillers and additional reinforcement with microfibres.
Outstanding colour durability – owing to the use of strictly selected inorganic pigments characterised by improved resistance to external factors and special reflexive additives.
Machine application with recommended rendering units.
Free of electrostatic effect – coating does not attract dust, spores and exhaust fumes.

Substrate preparation
The substrate should be:
stable – sufficiently rigid, sufficiently long stabilized and primed,
even – irregularities and gaps should be filled with, e. g.  ATLAS ZW 50, ATLAS ZW 330, ATLAS PLASTERING MIX or adhesive mortars used for application of base coats of thermal insulation systems; prime the surface with ATLAS UNI-GRUNT emulsion before repairs,
clean – free from layers which would impair the render bonding, especially dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, residues of oil and emulsion paints;  substrates infected by biological corrosion (mould, algae, etc.) must be cleaned with ATLAS MYKOS agent.
Detailed requirements for substrates.

Rendering mass preparation
The render is delivered as a ready to use mass. It must not be mixed with other materials, diluted, or thickened. Just before application, the mass should be mixed in order to unify the consistency.
Mass application
Apply the rendering mass with a smooth stainless steel float, with coat of thickness equal to the aggregate grain size. Collect excessive material, put it back in the bucket and remix.
ATLAS SILICATE RENDER can be applied mechanically – the following units are recommended:
-          WAGNER PC 830e with nozzle 6 mm, operational pressure 1 bar,
-          MAI 2MULTIPUMP with nozzle 6 mm, operational pressure 1 bar,
-          GRACO Textspray RTX 1500 with nozzle 6 mm.
Before the rendering mass application, apply through the hose a little bit of ATLAS SILKAT ASX mass in order to liquefy the hose and prevent clogging.
Texture forming
Freshly applied mass requires texture forming with a plastic float, with circular moves. Machine-applied renders are not textured.
Renovation of rendering coat
Renovation of a façade after years of operation can be done with the use of silicate paint ATLAS SALTA S or silicone paint ATLAS SALTA N.

The product must not be used upon horizontal surfaces or those exposed to direct permanent water and snow action, upon surfaces exposed to damp resulting from capillary action.
• Before application, carefully protect any elements close to the rendered area, like window panes, joinery, flashings, etc., as soiling caused by set silicate render cannot be removed without the risk of damage to the substrate.
• The maximum surface possible to render in a single technological cycle (application and floating; for particular substrate type and weather conditions) should be established experimentally.
• Apply the render with the “wet on wet method”, prevent the textured coat from drying before application of the subsequent coat. Otherwise the seams will be visible. Technological breaks have to be planned in advance, e.g. in corners and angles of a building, under rainwater pipes, on lines of contact of two colours, etc.
• Protect the rendered surface both during application and render setting against direct sunlight, wind and precipitation.
• The setting time depends on substrate type, temperature and relative air humidity, and can vary from 12 to 48 hours. In high humidity and temperature close to +5°C the setting time can extend.
• In order to avoid differences in colour shades an individual surface should be coated with silicate render of the same manufacturing date.
• When rendering external thermal insulation systems one should avoid the use of dark colours, of diffuse reflection coefficient lower than 20%. The share of these colours on façades should not exceed 10% of the surface – they are recommended upon limited façade surfaces (architectonic details).
• The tools must be cleaned with clean water directly after use.
•Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Keep out of reach of children. Read label before use. Avoid release to the environment. Dispose of contents/ container to appropriately labeled containers designed for selective waste treatment, emptied by an authorized company. Follow the instructions of the Safety Data Sheet.
•Keep in tightly sealed original and labeled containers. Keep in dry and cool places, protect against overheating (> 30 °C) and freezing - the product freezes and irreversibly loses its performance in temperature below 0 °C. Protect against direct sunlight. Incompatible materials: avoid contact with aluminum, copper and alloys of these metals. Shelf life in conditions as specified is 12 months from the production date shown on the packaging.
