    USE & PROPERTIES

    ·          for painting mineral substrates like cement and cement-lime plasters and rough substrates made of concrete, brick, hollow brick and other similar ceramic or lime-sand-based materials for original painting and where the substrate is exposed to dampness, both in historic and modern buildings.

    ·          for indoor and outdoor application

    ·          perfectly reflects the texture of the painted surface (without smoothing effect) and has natural matte appearance.

    ·          rich colour palette comprising 392 ready recipes and the possibility to prepare the paint of a different colour depending on individual needs, also based on the samples of the original material

    ·          forms a mineral coat of excellent water vapour permeability, thus ensuring free diffusion of water vapour and evaporation of moisture from the substrate upon which it was used

    ·          strong adhesion – the paint reacts chemically with the substrate in the silification process, penetrating the structure of the substrate and forming a very durable bonding structure

    ·          highly resistant to weathering, atmospheric precipitation and all kinds of aggressive components contained both in the substrate and the environment

    ·          alkaline reaction resulting from the properties of water glass reduces the susceptibility of the painted surface to the development of microorganisms

    SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

    Go top

The method of surface cleaning must be individually adjusted for each object, depending on the strength and condition of the substrate material and its historic value. The substrate must be dry, stable and free from layers that may weaken paint adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, wax and grease. Carefully remove any old paints and other layers of weak adhesion to the substrate and dispersion paint coat. Before the application of the paint, prime the surface with ATLAS GOLDEN AGE S-01 silicate priming agent.

    APPLICATION

    Go top

The paint is delivered as a ready to use product. After opening, mix the contents of the bucket in order to equalize consistency. Dilute the paint with ATLAS GOLDEN AGE S-01 agent added in the amount not exceeding 7% of the paint volume (0.7 liters of agent to one 10 l container of paint). The assumed dilution proportion has to be preserved for the whole painted surface. Perform the final painting with undiluted paint. Apply the paint in thin, uniform layer using a paintbrush, a roller or a spray gun. The paint can be applied in one or two coats depending on the needs and the absorbability and structure of the substrate. The second coat can be applied when the first one has dried. The paint should be applied in a continuous manner, “wet-on-wet”, avoiding breaks or painting over partly dried coats. The drying time is ca. 2 to 6 hours, depending on the substrate, ambient temperature and relative air humidity. Technological breaks should be planned in advance, e.g. in corners and angles of the building, along cornices, pilasters or other architectural division lines. During application and drying, protect the painted surface from direct sunlight, wind and precipitation. It is recommended to use a protective net on scaffolding.

Note: To avoid differences in shade during coloured paint application, each surface should be painted with the paint of the same production date. Painting surfaces of different texture and technical parameters can result in achieving two different shades of the same colour.

Before painting, thoroughly protect all neighboring elements like window panes, joinery and flashings should, because dry stains of silicate paint are difficult to remove without the risk of damaging the substrate.
