USE

Go top
It is designed for all kinds of tiles in wet, damp and dry places – in bathrooms, kitchens, corridors, on stairs and outside buildings.
It allows grouting tiles exposed to deformation – it is flexible - it is recommended for grouting on: properly stable substrates of wood-based panels (including OSB) and plasterboards, floor and wall heating systems, balconies, terraces and façades.
Element of the tiling finishing system – in combination with corresponding in colour AVAL and ATLAS silicones, finishing strips and other grouts.
Types of joined elements – small and medium size; ceramic (glazed tiles, terracotta, gres-porcelain), cement and stone tiles and glass mosaic.
Types of substrates under the tiles – all listed above and cement, cement-lime and gypsum plasters, rough walls, cement and anhydrite screeds.

PROPERTIES

Go top
ANTIBACTERIAL PROTECTION – in the form of silver addition – silver, thanks to its aseptic properties, fights hundreds of kinds of bacteria and fungi which cannot become immune against it; due to silver, the grouts remain clean and bright for a long time; the silver contained in the grout is environmentally friendly, non-toxic and non hazardous to man.
MYCO PROTECT – the mortar forms unfavourable conditions for the growth of fungi, mould and algae due to low absorptiveness and acidic – alkaline reaction.
PEARL EFFECT maximum absorption reduction – the addition of the hydrophobic molecules protects the substrate against moisture.
High mechanical resistance – against cracks, scratches and abrasion.
Increased adhesion to the edges of tiles – tightly adheres to the edges of tiles even at high deformation of the tiling; during setting, no contraction cracks appear during setting.
Allows to obtain ideally smooth surface – contains very fine aggregate.
Manufactured in 31 colours – matching the colours of AVAL and ATLAS grouts, silicones and trims.

APPLICATION

Go top
Substrate preparation
Before grouting, carefully clean the joints between tiles. The joints should be of even depth - while fixing tiles, remove excessive adhesive immediately. You can begin grouting only after the adhesive has set, not earlier than 24 hours after fixing the tiles. In case of use of ATLAS MIG 2 or PLUS EXPRESS adhesive, you can begin grouting already after 4 hours. Directly before grouting, clean the surface of the tiles with damp sponge and wet the joints slightly in order to limit and unify the substrate absorptiveness.
Mortar preparation
Pour the mortar from the bag into a container with the suitable amount of water (see Technical Data for proportions) and mix until homogenous. You can do it manually or mechanically. The mortar can be used after 5 minutes and after remixing. It should be used up within ca. 2 hours.
Application
Introduce the mortar deep and tightly into the joints with the use of a rubber spatula. Move the spatula diagonally to the edges of tiles and held at ca. 45° to the tiles surface.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning can be carried out after initial grout setting, i.e. after 10 - 30 minutes. Use damp, hard sponges with larger pores. For at least 3 days, the mortar must not be exposed to precipitation, low temperatures (below +5 °C) and extensive air humidity. The grout should be protected against rapid drying. In order to preserve the optimum setting conditions for the grout, the fresh joints should be kept slightly moist, e.g. by sprinkling the surface with clean water. The actual colour of the grout is fixed after drying, after ca. 2 - 3 days.
Usage of the floor
Pedestrian traffic is possible after 24 hours after grouting. As an additional protection against soiling, it is recommended (after the grout is completely dry, i.e. after ca. 2 weeks) to apply AVAL KT 95 (ATLAS DELFIN) protective agent.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Go top
• Before grouting of the whole cladding, carry out test grouting on a small fragment (best on a waste piece of tile) and test cleaning in order to eliminate the tile discolouration.
• In order to avoid various shades of colour, it is recommended to use grout of the same manufacturing date and the same batch number for each individual surface.
• Silicones and grouts are manufactured based on different types of binders, and therefore differ in the degree of smoothness and gloss. These factors naturally influence the colour shade for each type of product.
• Addition of inappropriate amount of water to the mortar can cause deterioration of its quality and lead to discolouration.
• The differences in the depth of the joints, or washing the tiles too early may cause uneven colour shade on the grout surface.
• In joints located in particular parts of facing (internal and external corners, expansion joints), finishing strips should be used, e.g. ATLAS EDGE TRIMS or filling with permanently elastic materials e.g. AVAL EXTRA or ATLAS SILTON S silicone.
• The tools must be cleaned with clean water directly after use. Difficult to remove residues of the set mortar can be removed with the ATLAS SZOP agent.
• DANGER. Contains cement. May cause respiratory irritation. Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye damage. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid breathing dust. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF ON SKIN (or hair): Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. If skin irritation or a rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do – continue rinsing. Follow the instructions of the Safety Data Sheet.
• Content of soluble chromium (VI) in ready-to-use mix - ≤ 0.0002%.

TRANSPORT & STORAGE

Go top
