USE

Creates unique colour compositions from coloured quartz aggregate – rich colour palette provides remarkable freedom at designing and execution of exhibition rooms, car salons, offices, apartments, staircases, waiting rooms, halls, hallways and façades, etc.
Constitutes light and durable render of increased resistance to washing, cleaning and abrasion – ideal for plinths, fences, resistance walls, columns - it is extremely resistant to damages resulting from atmospheric conditions and washing the surface.
Recommended for surfaces exposed to high thermal and operation loads – owing to its high elasticity, perfectly compensates strain resulting from different heat expansion of the layers beneath, caused, e.g., by long exposition to sunlight.
Types of rendered buildings – detached houses, apartment buildings and public access buildings.
Types of substrates – concrete, traditional plasters on walls of bricks, blocks, or ceramic, cellular concrete or silicate hollow bricks, plasterboards, thermal insulation systems with EPS and XPS.

Resistant to structural pollution – low absorbability limits the possibilities of structural pollution of the render.
High hardness – owing to the use of quartz aggregate.
Protected with MYCO PROTECT system – forms unfavourable conditions for development of fungi and mould due to low absorptiveness and acid – alkaline reaction.
Water vapour permeable – enables diffusion of water vapour.
Hydrophobic – polymer dispersions limit the absorbability of the render without limiting vapour permeability.

APPLICATION

Substrate preparation
The substrate should be:
• stable – sufficiently rigid,
• sufficiently long stabilized – the assumed stabilizing time for substrates is, respectively:
− for new cement plasters from ready to use ATLAS plastering mortars, min. 1 week for each 1 cm of thickness,
− for gypsum plasters of thickness ca. 1.5 cm, drying in temperature ca. 20°C – 14 days,
− for concrete walls - at least 28 days,
Plasters applied under AVAL KT 77 renders should be rough-finished and additionally in case of gypsum plasters avoid effect of ‘milky-white finishing’. The traditionally smooth-finished surface of gypsum plasters should be roughened.
• dry,
• even – fill in larger irregularities and cavities with ATLAS LEVELLING MORTAR, ATLAS ZW 330 or ATLAS PLASTERING MIX, or adhesive mortars for the execution of the reinforced layer in thermal insulation systems. Before repair, prime the surface with AVAL KT 17 (ATLAS UNI-GRUNT) emulsion,
• clean –free from layers that can deteriorate the adhesiveness of the render, especially dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, residues of oil and emulsion paints; a substrate covered with algae, fungi, etc. must be cleaned with ATLAS MYKOS agent,
• primed – with AVAL KT 16 (ATLAS CERPLAST) priming mass. As a substrate for some colour compositions, AVAL KT 16 (ATLAS CERPLAST) priming mass in clinker, brown or graphite colour is recommended.

Rendering mass preparation
The render is delivered in one of two options: a ready – to – use mass or two components – base and aggregate. The form of preparation depends on the delivered render form:
Form 1 – ready – to – use mass. It must not be mixed with other materials, diluted, or thickened. Mix the contents directly before application to equalize the consistency.
Form 2 – two components. Pour the aggregate from a bag into the bucket with base and mix thoroughly with the use of low speed drill with a mixer.
Render application

Apply the render in a layer equal to the aggregate grain size, using a stainless steel float and at the same time float the surface always in the same direction. Uneven floating can result in lack of uniform texture of the render and lead to local differences in colour shades over the rendered surface. Remove the excess of the material, place it in the bucket and remix.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• After application, the render has milk-white colour and obtains the proper colour after setting. High air humidity and low temperature can extend the setting time and cause a change in the shade.
• On constant contact with water, the render can get milky-white colour which disappears after the surface dries. It is not recommended to apply the render in areas exposed to prolonged effect of water or humidity (e.g. horizontal surfaces or with a very small slope, in small ponds) or ones without appropriate damp insulation (foundations, fences, or retaining walls).
• The maximum surface possible for rendering in one technological cycle (application and floating) must be established experimentally (for the given type of substrate and weather conditions).
• Apply the mass using the “wet on wet” method, preventing the floated layer from drying before applying the next layer. Otherwise, the seams will be visible. Technological breaks have to be planned in advance, e.g. in the corners and angles of the building, under rainwater pipes, or place of contact of two colours, etc.
• Protect the rendered surface both during work and while setting against direct sunlight, wind and precipitation.
• The setting time, depending on the surface, the temperature and the relative humidity of the air, is from 12 to 48 hours. In conditions of elevated humidity and at temperature of about +5°C, the setting time may be extended.
• Tools must be cleaned with clean water directly after use. Difficult to remove residues of the set render can be removed with the ATLAS SZOP 2000 agent.
• Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid release to the environment. Dispose of contents/ container to appropriately labeled containers designed for selective waste treatment, emptied by an authorized company. Follow the instructions of the Safety Data Sheet.
•Keep in tightly sealed original and labeled containers. Keep in dry and cool places, protect against overheating (> 30 °C) and freezing - the product freezes and irreversibly loses its performance in temperature below 0 °C. Protect against direct sunshine. Incompatible materials: avoid contact with aluminum, copper and alloys of these metals. Shelf life in conditions as specified is 12 months from the production date shown on the packaging (for KT 77 ready – to – use option). For options TM3 and KT 77 base + aggregate the product after mixing the base with aggregate should be used immediately and not later than 12 months from the base production date.
