Filing gypsum DELTA is designed for filling joints between plasterboards without reinforcing tapes (refers to factory-cut edges). In case of constructions made of boards fixed with one layer, at points particularly exposed to cracking (e.g. attics, wall corners, joints between boards and partitions made with traditional technologies, etc.) as well as for on-site cut boards, it is advisable to use additional reinforcing tape.

Filling gypsum DELTA is a dry mix based on highly strong alpha gypsum, mineral fillers and modifiers. Due to type of use and special operation conditions, the compound is elastified with polymers and additionally reinforced with cellulose fibres. Appropriate amount of polymers improves elasticity and bonding to substrate, whereas content of fibres strengthens and thickens the material structure, therefore improves resistance to cracking and joint mechanical strength. The mass is plastic, easy to apply and shape. The mortar sets and dries with limited shrinkage (no effect of mass retention), which reduces stress causing surface cracking. The mass forms between plasterboards very durable bond characterised by high strength. Jointing without tapes reduces the time of application and its cost.

The jointing can commence after stable and rigid plasterboards fixing. Boards surface should be cleaned of dust and any dirt which would impair mortar bonding. Edges of on-site cut boards should be bevelled with a knife or a plane at the angle of 20-25° at 2/3 of their thickness. Excessively absorptive substrates, including on-site cut edges as above, should be  primed with EURO-GRUNT 100 priming agent (transparent). Any steel elements, which might contact the mortar directly, should be protected against corrosion.

Pour the dry mix into a container with clean water (ratio: approx. 0.5 l of water for 1 kg of gypsum), leave for 3-5 minutes, so the powder soaks with water, then mix manually with a trowel (mixing time approx. 1-2 minutes) until homogenous. The mass can be used just after mixing and keeps the working parameters within approx. 60 minutes. Before mixing the next batch clean the container thoroughly as the set mortar residues may shorten the setting time of the next mix. Mixing with high speed mixers reduces the setting time, leads to excessive mass aeration and reduces the mass strength.

Jointing should be executed in two phases in stable air and humidity conditions. In the first one the mass is applied deeply, transversely to board edges, so the joint between boards is fully filled. Then, spread the mass uniformly along the joint and collect any irregularities (protrusions) with a stainless steel trowel. In the second phase (prepare new batch of compound), when surface hardens, apply the mass again upon joint surface and spread along until smooth and even surface forms. In case of cut edges, in order to unify joint and board plane, the width of second coat should be min. 40 mm.
Avoid direct sunshine, draughts, excessive and intensive room heating, provide appropriate ventilation during compound drying. After drying, any irregularities can be smoothed with fine sand paper. Plasterboards joined with filling gypsum DELTA can be coated with any top finished (paints, wallpapers, thin-coat plasters, ceramic cladding). Follow the guidelines of top finish manufacturer.

The average consumption is approx. 0.5 kg/1 m²/ 1 mm of coat thickness. Depends on the board edges type and thickness.
