USE

Go top
Priming and Obturating Paint GRUNT-TYNK is designed for application of filling and unifying painting coats upon cracked mineral substrates. Particularly recommended upon cement-lime and cement plasters, can also be used upon concrete, gypsum plasters and fishing coats, plasterboards and rough walls made of concrete, bricks, blocks, ceramic and silicate hollow blocks. For indoor and outdoor use

PROPERTIES

Go top
Priming and Obturating Paint GRUNT-TYNK is manufactured as dry mix of lime aggregates, powdered resins and modifiers. After application, it unifies and levels substrate properties by filling and obturating cracks of line and shrinkage characteristics. Characterised by high coating, eliminates unaesthetic cracks which impair application of top coats, eliminates the need of priming prior to painting. It unifies the substrate colour which facilitates coating with surface paints. The paint contains special fibres strengthening the coat, improving elasticity and improving filling of cracks. The use of Paint does not reduce the substrate water vapour permeability.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Go top
The substrate should be appropriately aged (gypsum plasters – min. 2 weeks, cement-lime plasters – min. 3-4 weeks), dry (humidity up to 3%), sound and cleaned of impurities which would impair bonding, particularly dirt, dust, wax and fats.

PAINT PREPARATION

Go top
The paint is prepared in two phases. In the first one, pour the dry mix from a bag into container with clean water (ratio: approx. 10-12 l of water for 20 kg of paint) and mix until homogenous. When so prepared paint thickens (after approx. 30 minutes), add 8-10 l of water, so the final ratio does not exceed 20 l of water for 20 kg of dry mix. Mix thoroughly. Thinner consistency is advisable in case of cracks visible after wetting the surface with water, thicker in case of cracks clearly visible after substrate wetting. It is acceptable to mix the paint with whole recommended water amount in a single operation, but on condition it is intensively and thoroughly mixed until lump free – so mixed paint should be left to rest for 20-30 minutes and remixed just before use.

APPLICATION

Go top
Apply the paint with a roller or a paintbrush with thin, uniform coat. Depending on substrate absorptiveness and structure, the paint can be applied once or twice. The second coat can be applied when the previous one dries. Time of drying is approx. 2-6 hours and depends on substrate type, temperature and air relative humidity. Protect the coated surface against direct sunlight during work and paint drying.

CONSUMPTION

Go top
The average consumption is approx. 0.15-0.2 kg per 1 m² for single coating.

PACKAGES

Go top
Paper bags: 20 kg.
Pallet: 840 kg in 20 bags.

TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

Go top
Shelf life is 12 months from the production date given on the bag. Transport and store the product in tightly closed bags, on pallets, in dry conditions. Protect against humidity. Incoherence with recommendations listed above may impact the product working parameters.
