GYPSUM ADHESIVE T is designed for fixing plasterboards and thermal/acoustic insulation composite boards indoors. The substrate beneath gypsum adhesive can be made of bricks, blocks, hollow blocks and other ceramic, lime-sand, concrete and cellular concrete. GYPSUM ADHESIVE T must not be used for fixing plasterboards on ceilings (installation on framing advisable).

GYPSUM ADHESIVE T is a dry mix manufactured on the basis of natural gypsum binders sourced from the process of calcination of gypsum stone and mineral fillers. It contains modifiers making the mortar plastic and easily workable.

The substrate should be dry, stable and cleaned of dust and other impurities which would reduce the gypsum bonding, particularly dirt, dust, oils, grease, residues of plasters, paint coatings and anti-adhesion agents. Very absorptive substrates should be primed with one of EURO-GRUNT agents, smooth ones of poor absorptiveness – with INTER-GRUNT agent. Any steel elements, which might contact the plaster directly, should be protected against corrosion.

Pour the dry mix into a container with clean water (recommended ratio: approx. 0.5 l of water for 1 kg of gypsum), leave to rest for 3-5 minutes, then mix manually or mechanically until homogenous and free of lumps. The mass can be used directly after mixing and should be used up within approx. 45 minutes. Before the next batch mixing, clean the container of residues of set mortar, as it can shorten the time of setting of the next mix.

The technology of plasterboards fixing depends on the substrate evenness and room size. In case of even substrates - place the board horizontally on floor, face down, apply adhesive with dabs approx. 10 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick, spaced 25-40 cm, apply a few additional dabs along the board edges. Lift the board (two persons advisable) and press towards the wall. Use a rubber mallet and a long darby to set the board position. It is advisable to fix two or three neighbouring boards simultaneously, which enables to fix their position and to form even surface. Leave gaps approx. 10 mm wide between board and floor and approx. 5 mm wide between board and ceiling. They ensure appropriate air circulation and gypsum adhesive setting. The boards should not adjoin directly – leave gaps approx. 2 mm wide between them.
In case of uneven substrates or small rooms, it is advisable to apply the adhesive directly upon walls – by differing its thickness and distribution, one can form even plane. In case of unevenness exceeding 20 mm, it is advisable to level the wall initially by fixing strips of plasterboards approx. 10 cm wide (with dabs of adhesive, spaced 60 cm). The fixed strips should be arranged in frame made of horizontal and vertical elements and form even plane. When the adhesive sets, the main layer of plasterboards is fixed upon so prepared “framing”.
In case of very even substrates it is possible to spread the adhesive with a notched trowel (notch size 8 mm), on the board back side only.
Boards can be fixed and positioned within approx. 10-15 minutes since the adhesive application (depending on ambient temperature and substrate absorptiveness).
The joints between plasterboards can be filled with FILLING GYPSUM F compound when the adhesive fully sets.
