White gypsum finishing coat OMEGA is a modern material designed for manual or machine application of top finishing coats on walls and ceilings indoors. Can be used on typical building substrates, such as cement, cement – lime and gypsum plasters, concrete, Pro-Monta boards and plasterboards. Uneven mineral substrates, particularly airbricks and bricks: ceramic, silicate and cellular concrete, should be evened with a plaster first. Perfect substrate for painting and papering. The mortar should not be used on metal, wooden and plastic substrates.

White gypsum finishing coat OMEGA is manufactured on the basis of synthetic gypsum, mineral fillers and modifiers. The proper mix of the additives provides the mortar with very good working properties: it is flexible, easy in application, floating and smoothing. It can be easily processed after setting – when sanded. The possibility of machine spraying enables easier and much faster coat application in comparison to the traditional method. OMEGA finishing coat forms perfectly smooth surface of white, unified colour. It is ecological, environmentally-friendly, ensures favourable room microclimate with beneficial influence on human health and well-being.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate should be even, strong, stable, dry (moisture content max. 3%), free of bloom and cleaned of impurities which might reduce the gypsum adhesion. The substrate under the top finishing coat should be properly prepared. Gypsum plasters and gypsum prefabricates do not require priming. In case of plasterboards follow the boards manufacturer recommendations.  Very absorbent substrates should be primed with one of the priming agents EURO-GRUNT. In case of smooth substrates, e.g. concrete, use the priming agent INTER-GRUNT. Priming should be executed in accordance to the guidelines listed on the packaging.

MORTAR PREPARATION

The mixing ratio depends on the chosen application method. In case of manual application one should use 0.4 l of water with 1 kg of dry mix. In case of machine application (with prior preparation of the mortar) – max. 0.5 l of water with 1 kg of dry mix. In both cases pour the dry mix into a container with clean water, leave for 2 – 3 minutes, then mix manually or mechanically until homogenous. The mass can be used straight after mixing and keeps the working parameters for approx. 60 minutes. Unused mortar, when its setting starts, must not be re-mixed with water and should be removed as it shortens the setting time of the next mix.

APPLICATION

Machine application - spray the mass leading the equipment lance 1 m from the substrate, in horizontal overlapping strips. In case of brakes lasting more than 60 minutes, the hopper and coils must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with clean water. Level the finishing coat using a steel trowel immediately after spraying.
Manual application – float the mass evenly with a stainless, steel float strongly pressing to the substrate.
In both cases, if the second coat needed, one should wait until the first coat sets and dries. The maximum top finish coat thickness should not exceed 3 mm. Minor irregularities can be evened out with a sand paper or an abrasion mesh. The drying time depends on the coat thickness, temperature and humidity in a room. Avoid direct sunshine and draughts during the coat drying, provide proper room ventilation.

The average consumption is approx. 0.8 kg per 1 m² for coat thickness of 1 mm.

STORAGE & TRANSPORT

Shelf life is 12 months from the production date given on the bag. Transport and store the product in tightly closed bags, on pallets, in dry conditions. Protect against humidity. Incoherence with recommendations listed above may impact the product working parameters.
