USE

Go top
PLASTICISED FILLING GYPSUM is a modern gypsum binder designed for application of top finishing coats on walls and ceiling as well as filling cavities, minor scratches and cracks. For indoor use, on typical mineral substrates, such as concrete, cement, cement-lime and gypsum plasters as well as plasterboards. The mortar should not be used on metal, wooden and plastic substrates.

PROPERTIES

Go top
PLASTICISED FILLING GYPSUM is a dry mix based on natural gypsum binders sourced from gypsum stone calcination, mineral fillers and modifiers, which make the mortar flexible and easy in application. The surface formed by the mortar is easier to polish than the one obtained from the FILLING GYPSUM and prolonged pot life of the compound facilitates the work. The use of PLASTICISED FILLING GYPSUM enables to form perfect surface for painting and wallpapering: strong, of high level of smoothness and good adhesion with the substrate. Extended thickness range (up to 6 mm for a coat) enables to correct larger irregularities and wall curve in a  single operation. It is ecological, environmentally-friendly, ensures favourable room microclimate with beneficial influence on human health and well-being.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Go top
The substrate should be even, strong, stable, dry (moisture content max. 3%), unfrozen, free of bloom and cleaned of impurities which might reduce the gypsum adhesion. The substrate should be appropriately prepared. Gypsum plasters and gypsum prefabricates do not require priming. In case of plasterboards follow the boards manufacturer recommendations.  Very absorbent substrates should be primed with one of the priming agents EURO-GRUNT. In case of smooth substrates, e.g. concrete, use the priming agent INTER-GRUNT. Priming should be executed in accordance to the guidelines listed on the packaging. Any steel elements, which might contact the plaster directly, should be protected against corrosion.

MORTAR PREPARATION

Go top
Pour the dry mix into a container with clean water (ratio: approx. 0.65 l of water for 1 kg of gypsum), leave for 3-5 minutes, then mix manually or mechanically until homogenous and free of lumps. The mass prepared for filling the cavities should be denser than the one for top finish.  The mass can be used just after mixing and keeps the working parameters for approx. 90 minutes. Unused mortar, when its setting starts, must not be re-mixed with water and should be removed as it shortens the setting time of the next mix.

APPLICATION

Go top
The form of application depends on the type of finishing and fixing works. Apply the mass onto the substrate with a stainless steel float, firmly pressing towards the substrate. In case of ceilings, apply the mix in strips starting from the window towards the interior, moving the float towards yourself. For walls, it is recommended to apply the mix in strips, starting from the floor towards the ceiling, moving the float upwards. Irregularities can be re-floated and polished after drying. Avoid direct sunshine and draughts during the coat drying, provide proper room ventilation.
Additional recommendations: surface preparation for paint coats and wallpapers – check if the surface is properly dry (max. moisture content up to 1%) and free of dust. Use a primer designed for a particular top coat. Follow the recommendations of the paint or wallpaper manufacturer.

CONSUMPTION

Go top
The average consumption for top finish is approx. 1.0 kg per 1 m² for coat thickness of 1 mm.
