Light Machine–applied Gypsum Plaster SPRINT is designed for indoor execution of single coat gypsum plasters onto walls and ceilings, in rooms of standard air humidity including the kitchens and bathrooms. Can be used on substrates made of ceramic elements, sand–lime bricks, normal and cellular concrete, cement particle boards. The mortar should not be used on metal, wooden and plastic substrates.

Light Machine–applied Gypsum Plaster BETA is a dry factory–made mortar based on natural gypsum binders drawn from the process of gypsum stone calcination. Contains mineral fillers and components which make the mortar plastic, easy in forming and characterised by high adhesion to the substrate. The plaster is even, smooth, hard and provides a perfect substrate for painting, wallpapering and tiling. It is ecological, environmentally-friendly, ensures favourable room microclimate with beneficial influence on human health and well-being. The plaster coat forms also an additional fire protection of the building construction elements.

The substrate should be stable, dry, free of bloom and cleaned of impurities which might reduce the gypsum adhesion, particularly of dust, dirt, form oils, greases, remains of paint coatings and anti-adhesion agents. Poorly adhering substrate elements should be hacked off, loose dusty fragments additionally cleaned with the use of a card. The substrate should be properly aged and its humidity must not exceed 3%. Very absorbent and porous substrates (cellular concrete, sand-lime and ceramic bricks) should be primed with one of the priming agents EURO-GRUNT. In case of smooth substrates or those of low absorptiveness (concrete), use the priming agent INTER-GRUNT. Any steel elements, which might contact the plaster directly, should be protected against corrosion. Frozen substrates must not be plastered. Steel beams forming the ceiling structural elements and joints of different materials should be, prior to the plaster application, additionally coated with the mortar with reinforcing mesh embedded.

Spray the plastering mass of plastic consistency onto the substrate, in horizontal overlapping stripes, from the top to the bottom. Recommended minimum thickness on walls and ceilings – 8 mm, maximum thickness on walls – 30 mm, maximum thickness on ceilings – 15 mm. Breaks during the mass application may last up to 20 minutes maximum. In case of longer pauses, empty and clean the unit, tools and hoses. Once applied, the mortar should be initially evened with a “H-type” darby, led along first, then from the bottom to the top of a wall. Any cavities should be regularly filled with additional mortar from the unit or manually with the use of a stainless plastering trowel and levelled. When the mortar partially sets, i.e. after approx. 80 – 120 minutes, the plaster plane and corners should be formed with the use of a feather edge or a long float, and minor cavities or irregularities, if any, filled with a stainless plastering trowel. Appropriately set plaster should be misted and floated with a sponge float in order to “extract” bleed water onto the surface. Once it becomes matt, it should be uniformly spread upon the whole surface with a long float. Caution! Plasters planned to be covered with ceramic tiling should be floated “rough” with a sponge float. In other cases, the surface smoothing gives smooth surface with fine pores. During the first 24 hours after application, the gypsum plaster should not be exposed to draught or direct sunlight. Next, it is recommended to ventilate the rooms thoroughly, which greatly facilitates the plaster drying. Detailed information on the substrate preparation and plasters application can be provided by the manufacturer. The drying time depends on the plaster thickness, temperature and humidity of a room. It can be assumed that the plaster of thickness of 15 mm, in a properly ventilated room and temperature above 15 °C, dries approx. 14 days. The plaster surface must dry properly before any subsequent cladding or painting works.
