USE

Machine–applied Gypsum Plaster ZETA is designed for indoor execution of single coat gypsum plasters in public access buildings, hospitals, hotels, schools, as well as residential buildings. Can be applied onto walls and ceilings, in rooms of standard air humidity including the kitchens and bathrooms. Can be used on substrates made of ceramic elements, sand–lime bricks, normal and cellular concrete after proper substrate preparation.

PROPERRTIES

Go top
Machine–applied Gypsum Plaster ZETA is a modern factory–made mortar based on synthetic gypsum, mineral fillers and chemical additives. High content of the binder and properly selected aggregate provides the mortar with favourable parameters – increased surface hardness and very high mechanical strength.  Therefore, the plaster is recommended for places particularly exposed to damage resulting from room usage – in public access buildings, hotels, schools, in corridors and staircases of residential buildings. The plaster provides a perfect substrate for tiling as well as painting and wallpapering. The use of a gypsum plaster ensures favourable room microclimate, with beneficial influence on human health and well-being. The plaster coat is additionally characterised with favourable thermal insulation parameters and full fire resistance (class A1).

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Go top
The substrate should be stable, dry, free of bloom and cleaned of impurities which might reduce the gypsum adhesion, particularly of dust, dirt, form oils, greases, remains of paint coatings and anti-adhesion agents. The substrate should be properly aged and its humidity must not exceed 3%. Very absorbent and porous substrates (cellular concrete, sand-lime and ceramic bricks) should be primed with one of the priming agents EURO-GRUNT. In case of smooth substrates or those of low absorptiveness (concrete), use the priming agent INTER-GRUNT. Any steel elements, which might contact the plaster directly, should be protected against corrosion. Frozen substrates must not be plastered.

MORTAR PREPARATION

Machine – applied Gypsum Plaster ZETA is prepared for use and applied with plastering units.

APPLICATION

Go top
Spray the plastering mass of plastic consistency onto the substrate, in horizontal overlapping stripes, from the top to the bottom. Recommended minimum thickness on walls and ceilings – 8 mm, maximum thickness on walls – 30 mm, maximum thickness on ceilings – 15 mm. Breaks during the mass application may last up to 20 minutes maximum. In case of longer pauses, empty and clean the unit, tools and hoses.  The mortar is evened with a “H-type” darby, and after 80 – 120 minutes with the use of a feather edge.  In the final stage the plaster should be misted and floated with a sponge float in order to “extract” bleed water onto the surface. Once it becomes matt, it should be uniformly spread upon the whole surface with a long float. Caution! Plasters planned to be covered with ceramic tiling should be floated “rough” with a sponge float. During the first 24 hours after application, the gypsum plaster should not be exposed to draught or direct sunlight. Next, it is recommended to ventilate the rooms thoroughly, which greatly facilitates the plaster drying. Detailed information on the substrate preparation and plasters application can be provided by the manufacturer. The drying time depends on the plaster thickness, temperature and humidity of a room. It can be assumed that the plaster of thickness of 15 mm, in a properly ventilated room and temperature above 15 °C,  dries approx. 21 days. The plaster surface must dry properly before any subsequent cladding or painting works.
