ATLAS GRUNTO-PLAST

contact coat for difficult substrates

ATLAS GRUNTO-PLAST

Most important features

  • increases adhesion and strengthens the substrate
  • for tile on tile, terrazzo, varnishes, OSB boards and concrete
  • ready to use

Product description

ATLAS GRUNTO-PLAST is a ready-to-use contact coat for difficult substrates – improves bonding of adhesives, water- and damp proofing, finishing coats to substrates of low absorptiveness, to extremely smooth substrates or those coated with old PVC adhesives, paints, etc.

Main properties

Increases adhesion - adheres strongly to the substrate (to concrete min. 1.0 MPa) and to newly applied layers.
Contains quartz aggregate - increases adhesion by significantly developing the effective surface between coats (creates a rough surface).
Strengthens surface-primed mineral substrates - penetrates the material structure, reinforces it and improves its load-bearing capacity.
Provides a primer for difficult substrates - enables adhesives, waterproofing and other materials to be applied in such a way that adequate adhesion is achieved, even on demanding substrates such as OSB, old ceramic cladding, etc.
Facilitates the application of the next layer - the rough surface reduces the slip of the material being applied.
Designed for application at elevated temperatures - recommended for use between 5 °C and 30 °C, indoors and outdoors.
Reduces the absorbency of the substrate - prevents excessive water being drawn off from the product applied to primed substrates: concrete, cement floors and underlays, underlays with underfloor heating, various types of plaster, etc.
Improves the performance of smoothing and adhesives - by sealing the structure of the primed substrate, it reduces the consumption of materials used for the next layer.
Unifies the absorbency of the substrate - thanks to ATLAS GRUNTO-PLAST the product applied in the next layer has the same binding conditions on the whole surface, including where local repairs have been carried out.
Protects the new layer from the adverse effects of the substrate - reducing the interaction of one with the other.
It is a white primer - reduces colour bleed through from the substrate and the appearance of discolouration on the surface of the smooth finish coat.
Protects wooden substrates from excessive moisture - resulting from contact with the newly applied wet layer.

Main parameters

  • Mass density - approx. 1.5 g/cm³
  • Adhesion to concrete - > 1,0 MPa
  • Substrate and ambient temperature during the work - from +5 ºC to +30 ºC
  • Start of further work after priming - after approx. 24 hours
