Product description

The ATLAS DOUBLE FIBRE TECHNOLOGY is based on a mix of polypropylene and cellulose fibres.
: • The polypropylene fibres are a material with very high chemical resistance to acids, alkalis and solvents or salts. They are hydrophobic, practically non-absorbent and therefore resistant to microbial infestation.
• Cellulose fibres become elastic and malleable under the influence of water. They increase in volume and allow water to be transported freely along the fibres and therefore have a significant effect on the working properties of the mortar – they improve the rheology of the mortar, reduce run-off, extend the open time and increase the wettability of the substrate.

DOUBLE FIBRE TECHNOLOGY in OK! – ELASTIFIED ADHESIVE offers the following advantages:
• improvement of strength parametres,
• improvement of water retention in the mortar: fibres reduce the result of sudden water retention both on joint with absorbable substrate and absorbable tile as well as within the evaporation zone; during adhesive binding and drying (particularly when applied with maximum coat) the fibres accumulate and transport water and keep its uniform level within the whole coat,
• limitation of the effect of tile “sinking”,
• significant improvement in workability,
• improvement of tiles stability just after fixing to the substrate.

Properties

OK! – ELASTIFIED ADHESIVE is manufactured as a dry mix of high quality cement binder, aggregates, fibres and special composition of modifiers with polymers.

wide range of adhesive layer thicknesses (2-10 mm) and thus allows thin-layer adhesion of the cladding even on uneven substrates and makes it possible to level mineral substrates,
extended open time – allows the adhesive to be applied to the tile for up to 30 minutes after it is applied to the substrate – can be applied to a larger area at a time and therefore minimises working time,
reduced slip, therefore enables fixing the cladding “from the top”, which helps to avoid cut-to-size tiles on exposed wall zones,
wide range of applications in residential buildings: bathrooms, kitchens, corridors, garages, stairwells.
