ATLAS with AEO certificate

This autumn was extremely important and busy time for ATLAS. An audit of Łódź Customs Chamber ended the process of assessment of ATLAS quality procedures and brought ATLAS the Certificate of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO).

European Union, in order to strengthen the safety of deliveries and facilitate the legitimate trade, set up an institution of Authorised Economic Operator within the European Community. The AEO certificate can be given to enterprises which, according to EU members, are trustful and solvent and their organisation, infrastructure, warehouses safety and hygiene and informatic systems protection in use assure top level safety of sites and goods.

The AEO status brings numerous benefits to enterpreneurs, e.g.:

  • less frequent physical and records reviews,
  • right to request for customs clearance at point different than customs office,
  • priority of review, if ordered,
  • right to defer payment of customs and taxes.

The AEO status holder is not only trustful to any customs authorities within the whole European Community, but also outside, e.g. in USA or Japan.

The AEO certificate for ATLAS is the next step and continuation of positive audit of 2010 granting the right to use simplified export procedure. The audit procedures were led in ATLAS headquarters in Łódź as well as in departments in Zgierz and Suwałki and paid main attention to:

  • customs procedures (export, import),
  • widely understood safety of information,
  • procedures and intergrated management system, certificates (ISO, etc.),
  • financial activities and policy.

The whole assessment procedure was supervised on behalf of ATLAS by Zbigniew Bilicki, head of Customer Service Department in Zgierz, who received the AEO certificate at solemn gala in Łódź Customs Chamber on 3 December 2014.
