WITHOUT RENDERING THERE IS NO THERMO-INSULATION

termomodernizacja warstwy

Rendering is a key step in thermal modernisation, which not only affects the appearance of the building, but also its functionality and durability.

The right render provides optimum thermal insulation, long-lasting protection of the walls against moisture, and is also attractive to the eye. Thanks to it, we can enjoy the beautiful appearance of our home, greater living comfort and lower heating bills. Provided, of course, that we choose high-quality render and use experienced professionals.

What exactly is render and what role does it play?

Render is a coating applied to the exterior and interior surfaces of buildings, made from a mixture of binding materials, fillers and water. Its main role is to give the surface a finish, protect the walls from the weather and improve the thermal efficiency of the building. Render therefore combines the aesthetic aspect with the functional aspect, influencing the durability and quality of the construction.

What are the functions and characteristics of render?

  1. Thermal insulation – a well-chosen render improves the insulation of a building, reducing heat loss in winter and keeping it cool in summer, resulting in energy savings and greater comfort for the occupants.
  2. Protection against moisture – render with the right hydrophobicity provides a barrier against moisture penetration into the wall, preventing the formation of, among other things fungi or mould.
  3. Mechanical resistance – render should have adequate resistance to mechanical damage, thus protecting the building from damage and scratches, also as a result of weather conditions.
  4. Flexibility – due to a certain ability to deform, the render is able to adapt to the movements of the substrate, which is particularly important for buildings exposed to vibrations or ground settlement.
  5. Aesthetics – plays a key role in the appearance of a building, affecting its visual appeal and aesthetics. Different types of render are available on the market: mineral, acrylic or silicate , depending on the investor’s preferences.

What guides customers when choosing a render?*

A statistical survey commissioned by the Atlas Group confirmed that for the vast majority of Poles (87 per cent), the facade render determines the final appearance of the entire house.
When choosing a render, we are guided by the following criteria:

  • Resistance to changing weather conditions;
  • Resistance to algae, fungi and mould growth;
  • Resistance to dirt and colour fastness.

When faced with the choice of façade render, 54 per cent of respondents ask a professional for advice.

Which render to choose?

At ATLAS, we know how important it is to finish a building’s façade, which is why we offer renders that perform well in all conditions. They are easy to apply, provide high protection against UV rays and weather conditions. Some also provide fashionable decorative effects, such as architectural concrete or wood imitation.
